About 3D Secure

Currently, Spendesk cards do not support the 3D Secure protocol, however it shouldn't prevent you from making a purchase.

Merchants usually trigger '3D Secure' when they detect that your card supports it.

In case of a fraud, and for cards that do not support 3D Secure, the card issuer is responsible (in this case Spendesk), not the merchant.

Here are a few things to check prior to making a payment. This will avoid being blocked by a 3D Secure process:

  • - First, check that you've entered the right billing address (associated with your Spendesk card and account.) You can find it under every virtual card:

  • - Check that you've entered the right information linked to your card (name, expiration date, card number, CVV...)
  • - If you've made the payment on behalf of someone else (for example, booking a train or plane tickets, hotel bookings, etc.), it might be enough to trigger the 3D Secure verification. In this case, we advise to make the booking over the phone so that the supplier can easily double-check your identity.
